Penn Brass & Copper Company was founded in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Penn’s business thrives and grows with decades of successful manufacturing experience making products for the appliance, automotive and other industries.
1971
Penn joined Marmon Group, a global, diversified industrial organization based in Chicago, Illinois.
1977
Penn Brass & Copper Company’s name changed to Penn Aluminum International LLC to reflect the increasing amount of aluminum used in customer products.
1982
Penn Aluminum purchased an aluminum extrusion plant in Murphysboro, IL, which was expanded to 275,000 square feet. Operations and headquarters then moved from Erie, Pennsylvania, to Murphysboro, Illinois.
1987
Penn Aluminum received the coveted Ford Motor Company Q1 Preferred Quality Award.
1998
Penn Aluminum earned the QS 9000 Quality Systems Certificate.
2002
Penn Aluminum became certified to ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management Systems standards.
2005
Penn Aluminum opened a 53,000-square-foot facility in Harlingen, TX, to support growing customer operations in Texas, Mexico and throughout the region.
2008
Marmon Holdings, Inc., was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.
2010
Penn Aluminum began implementation of the Marmon Group 80/20 business process to provide continued focus on improvement of quality, production efficiency, strategic growth and innovation.
2018
Penn Aluminum is certified to the ISO/IATF 16949 Quality Management System standards.
